Netflix Announces Matthew Perry Documentary Series for October 2026

Netflix has announced a three-part documentary series titled "The One About Matthew Perry," set to premiere on October 27, 2026. The series will explore the life and legacy of the late "Friends" star, featuring intimate testimonies from his family and friends, including his sister, Mia Perry Bowick. The documentary is directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Mary Robertson, known for the Investigation Discovery series "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV." According to the announcement, the project aims to present a definitive portrait of Perry, moving beyond his iconic role as Chandler Bing and his public struggles with addiction. It will include never-before-heard stories and unreleased footage from the Perry family's private archive. Bowick stated that she felt ready to share memories of her brother after his death in October 2023. "It's taken time for me to feel ready to share these memories and what it was like to love Matthew through all the complexity of his life to see him as a whole person, not just as Chandler, and not just as someone who struggled with addiction," she said.
