Netanyahu says toppling Iran's Islamic Republic is within reach

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday that toppling Iran's Islamic Republic is "within reach," asserting the regime is weaker than ever as the United States resumed military strikes this week. Speaking at an event with Israeli military leaders, Netanyahu stated, "This regime is currently teetering. It is weaker than ever. It is fighting for its survival." He added, "I am convinced that we can remove this threat once and for all that is, to overthrow this regime. That is the central task that still lies ahead of us, but it is close. It is not impossible. It is within reach." Netanyahu's comments come as the conflict, which began with a joint US-Israeli attack on Iran in late February, enters its sixth month. President Donald Trump called a ceasefire in April, but the United States has imposed new economic pressure and resumed strikes this week. In response, Iran has fired back at US allies in the Gulf, Jordan, and Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region, though not at Israel. "If they're not attacking us, it is not by chance. They attack everyone, but not us," Netanyahu said. "They know our power the strength of our arms and our determination.
