Nepal Flood Rescue Continues for Hydropower Workers

Rescue teams in Nepal are continuing intensive efforts to reach hundreds of workers feared trapped inside hydropower tunnels following devastating floods and mudflows that struck the country on August 26, 2026. Operations are ongoing in the flood-hit Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, where collapsed sections, large rocks, and accumulated floodwater are significantly slowing progress. Search crews are working to clear debris, drain waterlogged tunnels, and blast through rock obstructions at several hydropower projects.
