Namibia and South Africa Begin Historic ODI Series

Namibia and South Africa are set to commence a historic three-match One-Day International (ODI) cricket series on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Windhoek. This marks the first-ever bilateral ODI contest between the two neighboring nations, who are also co-hosts of the 2027 ODI World Cup. All matches will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground. The series opener is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM local time. South Africa, captained by Bjorn Fortuin, will face Namibia, led by Gerhard Erasmus. Both captains have acknowledged the competitiveness of their opponents, with Fortuin noting Namibia's skill and home-ground advantage. "I think we've seen over the past two games that we've played, it's been highly competitive," Fortuin stated. "We've seen their skill being displayed in various sectors of the game...
