Musk-Linked PAC Launches Trans-Themed Ad Blitz Against Democrats

Published 11 September 2026

Elon Musk's America PAC has launched a major digital advertising campaign targeting Democratic Senate candidates in competitive midterm races, focusing heavily on transgender issues in an effort to drive Republican voter turnout. The super PAC, which Musk has authorized to spend more than $100 million this election cycle, has released at least 38 social media ads in less than a week, according to a review of ad libraries. The ads target Democratic candidates James Talarico in Texas, Sherrod Brown in Ohio, Josh Turek in Iowa, and Mary Peltola in Alaska. They accuse the candidates of supporting a "radical trans agenda" and feature imagery that portrays transgender individuals in stereotypical ways. Some ads depict people implied to be transgender women, though it remains unclear whether these individuals are real actors or AI-generated. The campaign represents the first coordinated transgender-focused push from a major Republican-aligned outside group this election cycle. According to AdImpact, a firm that tracks political ad spending, transgender issues had been a minor theme in GOP Senate advertising until now.
