Musk Documentary Draws Allegations From Ex-Wife

Published 10 September 2026

A new documentary about Elon Musk has drawn public allegations from his first wife, Justine Musk, and from Ashley St. Clair, who says she is the mother of one of his children. The film, directed by Alex Gibney and simply titled Musk, premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, September 8, and is scheduled for release on October 16. Justine Musk, who was married to the billionaire from 2000 to 2008 and had six children with him, including son Nevada, who died of sudden infant death syndrome at 10 weeks old, appears in the documentary. She says she learned the term gaslighting through her relationship with Musk and that he made her feel insignificant during their marriage. He was constantly remarking on the ways he found me lacking, she says in the film, describing him as speaking to her the way a boss speaks to an employee. She also alleges that during their wedding first dance he told her he was the alpha in the relationship, a detail she previously described in a 2010 Marie Claire essay. According to reporting citing the film, Justine Musk also alleges that Musk refers to the mothers of his children as breeders, saying that to him they are interchangeable.
