Musiala returns as Bayern rout Bodo/Glimt 5-0

Bayern Munich opened their Champions League campaign with a commanding 5-0 victory over Bodo/Glimt at the Allianz Arena on Thursday, September 10, with Jamal Musiala marking his return to the starting lineup by scoring the opening goal. The German champions controlled possession from the outset but were frustrated by the visitors' deep defensive block in a scoreless first half. Luis Diaz had the first clear chance after five minutes, meeting Joshua Kimmich's cross with a close-range header that goalkeeper Nikita Haikin saved. Kimmich later struck the outside of the post from distance, and Haikin denied both Musiala and Kimmich before the break, during which Bayern registered 10 attempts to Bodo/Glimt's one. Bayern needed less than two minutes after the restart to break through, as Harry Kane's attempted finish was blocked and Musiala collected the loose ball before firing into the corner. Kane doubled the advantage in the 61st minute, powering a header past Faye Lund from Michael Olise's free-kick delivery.
