Multiple Acts Exit Sheeran Tour After Macklemore Removal

Multiple supporting acts have withdrawn from Ed Sheeran's Loop tour following the removal of rapper Macklemore from the lineup, creating a significant shakeup for the North American leg of the tour. The departures came after Sheeran stated the decision to remove Macklemore was made by the tour's promoter and venues, not by him personally. Grammy-winning artist Finneas, Irish singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe, Danish pop band Lukas Graham, and Irish folk group Beoga all announced their withdrawals in separate social media statements on Tuesday. Each artist cited solidarity with Macklemore and opposition to what they described as the silencing of political expression regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict. "Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed," Finneas wrote on Instagram. "I have decided to withdraw from my upcoming tour dates with Ed Sheeran. I stand with Palestine and its people." Rowe acknowledged his friendship with Sheeran but stated he could not continue performing while believing artists were being silenced. "As Irish people we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation," he wrote.
