MTN Nigeria nine-month profit rises 55% to N1.17 trillion

MTN Nigeria reported a 55.3% increase in profit after tax to N1.17 trillion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, as service revenue grew and quarterly growth accelerated. The telecommunications company’s unaudited results show profit rose from N750.2 billion in the same period of 2025. Service revenue increased 23.7% to about N4.6 trillion. Growth reached 19.7% year on year in the third quarter, up from 13.2% in the second quarter. Revenue for the three months to September was N1.61 trillion, while third-quarter profit after tax rose 36.5% to N457.6 billion. MTN Nigeria’s profit before tax climbed 59.4% to N1.80 trillion, and operating profit rose 38.2% to N1.99 trillion. Earnings per share increased to N55.60 from N35.80. The company said its stronger performance reflected growing demand for connectivity and continued investment in its network.
