Moscow Exchange to Launch Five Crypto Perpetual Futures
Moscow Exchange will launch five new cryptocurrency perpetual futures on September 22, 2026, expanding its regulated derivatives market for qualified investors. The contracts will track indices for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Tron, offering price exposure without the physical delivery of the underlying digital assets. The exchange announced the products on September 16, stating they are designed as cash-settled instruments. Contracts will be quoted in U.S. dollars, while all settlement, including collateral and variation margin, will occur in Russian rubles. This structure allows investors to trade crypto price movements without holding the tokens in digital wallets or on cryptocurrency exchanges. Access to the new perpetual futures is restricted to investors who qualify under Russian financial rules. The Bank of Russia introduced a new legal framework for digital assets on September 1, which established regulated infrastructure for cryptocurrency circulation through intermediaries and exchanges.
