Montreal airport worker dies after being struck by aircraft
A ground worker for a handling company has died after being struck by an Airbus A350 aircraft at Montreal Trudeau International Airport on Monday evening. The employee of Samsic was hit around 7:30 p.m. as a French Bee flight bound for Paris was preparing for departure. The incident occurred on the tarmac while the aircraft was reversing. The worker was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but was later pronounced dead. Montreal police attended the scene, and the airport authority confirmed the death on Tuesday morning. "The loss of a member of our airport community affects us all deeply," said Yves Beauchamp, President and Chief Executive Officer of ADM Aéroports de Montréal.
