Moghalu Rejects Listing on Atiku’s 2027 Policy Team

Former Central Bank of Nigeria deputy governor Kingsley Moghalu has rejected his inclusion in former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential campaign policy team, saying he was not consulted, did not consent and is not a member of the team in any capacity. Atiku’s campaign announced its structure for the 2027 election on Thursday, September 24, listing Moghalu among members of the policy team. The team is chaired by economist and banker Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, with Professor Mohammed Sagagi as deputy chairman. Moghalu said in a statement issued after the announcement that he was surprised to see his name on the list. He said he had neither authorized publication of his name as a team member nor agreed to serve informally or in an advisory role.
