Modi Flags Quality Concerns in Infrastructure Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd meeting of the PRAGATI platform on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, reviewing six major infrastructure projects and expressing serious concerns over quality standards in public works. The meeting, held at Seva Teerth, focused on projects across the Railway, Road, and Power sectors spanning nine states, with a cumulative cost exceeding Rs 30,000 crore. During the review, the Prime Minister emphasized that delays in infrastructure projects have consequences beyond cost escalation, as they postpone the intended benefits for citizens, businesses, and the economy.
