A mistrial was declared Friday in the high-profile murder case of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother accused of killing her three young children. The jury, after deliberating for seven days, was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, prompting Judge William Sullivan to end the proceedings. President Donald Trump commented on the outcome Friday, calling the case a "horrible tragedy" and a "terrible situation." Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump stated that Clancy "did a horrible, horrible thing" and suggested that "there'll be a price" to pay, likely in a "mental institution or jail or something."
