Missing NYC Grandmother Found Dead Near Las Vegas Airport

Alisa Goods, a 63-year-old grandmother from New York City, was found dead on August 20 near Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, nearly two weeks after she disappeared during a visit to the city. Her body was discovered just days after mysterious text messages demanding bitcoin were sent from her phone to her family. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the discovery, stating that the case remains an active investigation. Goods had traveled to Las Vegas to visit a longtime friend, Roger John. She left his apartment on August 8 at approximately 12:45 p.m. to take a bus to a nearby CVS store to shop. According to her family, she was later seen at a store near Paradise and Flamingo roads, where she purchased supplements and water. She never returned to her friend's home, and a missing person report was filed with police on August 10. For nearly two weeks, Goods' family conducted an extensive search, distributing flyers and checking hospitals and morgues. Her daughter, Kristen Goods, traveled from New Jersey to Nevada to lead the effort. "We have checked hospitals. We have checked morgues," Kristen told a local news station.
