Milo Yiannopoulos speaks out after US deportation

British far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has spoken publicly for the first time following his arrest and deportation from the United States, describing the experience as "humiliating," "physically degrading," and "frightening." In an interview released on September 1, 2026, Yiannopoulos told broadcaster Piers Morgan that he now understands what it means to be "really, really terrified." Yiannopoulos, 41, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on August 28, 2026. He was subsequently deported to the United Kingdom. In the interview, he recounted being "swarmed" by approximately 15 agents and later being moved between detention facilities every few hours, which he claimed was an effort to prevent contact with his lawyers. He also alleged he was denied food for a day and access to a nurse while in custody. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Yiannopoulos had legally entered the country in May 2019 but overstayed his visa. According to DHS, an immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22, 2026, after Yiannopoulos failed to appear for a scheduled hearing.
