Milo Yiannopoulos Detained by ICE for Overstaying Visa

British political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on August 27, 2026, and now faces deportation. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the arrest, stating the 41-year-old United Kingdom national had overstayed his legal authorization to remain in the country. According to DHS, Yiannopoulos legally entered the United States through New York City on May 14, 2019. He was issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge on July 22 after failing to appear for a scheduled immigration hearing. "He chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation's laws," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement. Yiannopoulos remains in ICE custody pending his removal from the United States. Online detainee records indicate he is being held at an ICE facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, a major hub for deportation flights.
