Miguel Rojas exits Dodgers’ NLDS game with lower-back pain

Published 7 October 2026

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas left Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves on October 6 after appearing to hurt his back during a swing. The Dodgers said he was removed because of lower-back pain. Tommy Edman replaced him in the game, which was played at Truist Park in Atlanta. Rojas exited during the eighth inning, shortly after fouling off a pitch from Braves reliever Brent Suter. He grimaced and bent forward, then received attention from a trainer before walking off the field. He did not finish his plate appearance; Edman took over at bat and in the field. Rojas was 0-for-3 when he left, according to game reports. The reports did not provide a medical diagnosis, an assessment of the injury’s severity or a recovery timeline. His availability for the remainder of the series was not established. The injury leaves the Dodgers with a decision about Rojas’s role in the remaining NLDS games. If the team removes him from its postseason roster because of the injury, he would be ineligible to return for the National League Championship Series, should Los Angeles advance, according to one report.
