Microsoft to Report Azure Revenue Quarterly

Published 5 September 2026

Microsoft Corporation shares saw a decline of approximately 2% during trading on Friday, September 4, 2026, as investors assessed the company's updated financial reporting structure and ongoing infrastructure investments. The stock, which had closed at 510.12 previously, traded as low as 499.36 before settling near 499.70. The technology giant announced a significant overhaul of its business segment reporting, set to take effect with its fiscal first-quarter results this fall. The company will begin disclosing standalone quarterly revenue for its Azure cloud business, a move aimed at providing investors with greater visibility into one of its fastest-growing operations. This change is part of a broader restructuring that will consolidate its existing three reporting segments into two: Agents and Infra, and Devices and Consumer. The Agents and Infra division will encompass Azure and server products alongside Microsoft 365 business software, reflecting a strategic focus on cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Under this new reporting framework, Azure generated 29.
