Michael Kelly Joins Landman Season 3 as William Crockett
Michael Kelly is joining Landman for its third season as a series regular, Paramount confirmed on September 9, 2026. The actor, known for roles in House of Cards, Jack Ryan and The Penguin, will play William Crockett, described in the official character announcement as the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world, a titan of industry in whom everything exudes efficiency and money. The casting is widely seen as filling the void left by Jon Hamm, whose character, oil tycoon Monty Miller, died at the end of Season 1 after a heart attack and an unsuccessful heart transplant. Taylor Sheridan has said Hamm signed on for only one season from the start and that Monty's death was always planned, regardless of casting. Like Miller, Crockett is positioned as a major figure in oil industry management circles. Kelly is already a series regular on Sheridan's spy thriller Lioness, playing CIA Deputy Director Byron Westfield, and is currently appearing in that show's third season. He becomes one of a small group of actors with roles across multiple Sheridan series, joining James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley on Landman and Two Cups on Lioness.
