Miami Hurricanes agree to 10-year Nike deal worth over $200 million
The University of Miami has agreed to a 10-year apparel deal with Nike worth more than $200 million, marking a return to the brand that outfitted the Hurricanes for nearly three decades. The agreement, reported by multiple sources, will see Nike take over as the school's primary apparel provider starting July 1, 2027, following the expiration of Miami's current 12-year contract with Adidas. The deal is valued at over $20 million annually, with approximately two-thirds of that amount paid in cash and the remainder in apparel. This represents a significant increase from the roughly $6.5 million per year Miami earned under its Adidas agreement. Adidas was given a contractual right to match Nike's offer but did not fully meet the terms, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. Miami's partnership with Nike will resume a relationship that began in 1987, when the Hurricanes became the first university to sign an all-sports contract with a single brand. That initial deal lasted until 2015, when Miami switched to Adidas.
