Messages and AI Songs Figure in Caleb Flynn Murder Trial

Ohio prosecutors have presented jurors with text messages and AI-generated songs as they seek to show that Caleb Flynn had a motive to kill his wife, Ashley, and staged her death to resemble a break-in. Flynn has pleaded not guilty, and the trial’s central question remains whether prosecutors can prove he killed her rather than an intruder. Alleigha Botner, who testified that she had an affair with Flynn for about a year and a half, described their relationship and read messages exchanged before Ashley’s death. In one message, Botner wrote, “I want to kill her,” and Flynn allegedly replied, “That makes two of us.” Other messages, according to her testimony, included discussions of Ashley’s death and plans for a future together. The exchanges are part of more than 100,000 messages the pair reportedly shared. Investigators also testified that they recovered AI-generated songs from Flynn’s phone that related to his relationship with Botner. Two songs were played in court. Botner testified that the lyrics referred to their relationship and secret meetings.
