Mercedes Crashes Into Country Club Pro Shop, Injuring Three

A white Mercedes crashed into the pro shop at Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton, Massachusetts, on Saturday, injuring the driver and two employees. All three individuals were transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, according to Newton police. The incident occurred around noon at the historic club on Fuller Street. Surveillance footage shows the vehicle drifting through the parking lot, mounting a curb, and then accelerating into the building. The car struck a wall behind two employees who were working inside the pro shop. Newton police stated the crash appears to be the result of accidental operator error and does not appear to be criminal in nature. Authorities also said alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The official cause remains under investigation, and the police incident report has not yet been released. The impact caused significant structural damage to the pro shop wall. The Newton Fire Department and a city engineer responded to the scene to assess the building. After the structure was deemed safe, the damaged wall was boarded up.
