Melania Trump Praises President’s UN Speech and Work

Melania Trump said Wednesday that President Donald Trump is focused and doing the best he can in his second term, and praised his delivery and performance in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly. She also said she tells him the truth, even when he sometimes does not want to hear it. In a television interview, the first lady described her husband as having a lot on his plate amid events around the world. She said he works nonstop from morning to evening and has more energy than anyone. The remarks offered a public assessment of his work while giving no specific examples of the advice or disagreements she referred to. Asked about his address to the United Nations in New York on Tuesday, Melania said she told him he had great delivery and gave a great speech. Her comments came the morning after the address, in which Trump discussed Iran and Ukraine and called on other countries to join efforts to isolate Iran economically. Melania was at the United Nations for the speech. During it, Trump credited her with helping secure the return of displaced Ukrainian and Russian children and paused to ask where she was in the chamber.
