Meghan Markle honors Gloria Steinem after death at 92

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, September 3, Markle honored Steinem's life and legacy, sharing previously unseen photographs and reflecting on their deep personal bond. Steinem died on Wednesday, September 2, at her home in New York City. Her foundation confirmed the news on Thursday, stating she was surrounded by loved ones. In her tribute, Markle expressed gratitude that Steinem "knew exactly how loved and admired she was" in her final weeks and days. The Duchess of Sussex shared three photos in her post. The first shows Markle and Steinem relaxing in chairs outdoors, taken during a 2020 "backyard chat" interview for the Makers Women platform. A second image is a framed photograph of Steinem with a toddler-aged Prince Archie. The final black-and-white photo depicts Markle and Steinem sitting closely together on a sofa.
