Questions are intensifying over the health and whereabouts of Senator Mitch McConnell as his absence from public view stretches past 80 days, with a heavy security presence reported outside his Washington, D.C., home and no confirmed timeline for his return to the Senate. The 84-year-old Kentucky Republican, who is not seeking reelection, was hospitalized on June 14 after a fall at his residence. His office later stated he was treated for a mild case of pneumonia and that doctors ruled out several serious conditions, including a stroke or heart attack. McConnell was subsequently transferred to a rehabilitation center before being discharged on August 6. His office announced at that time he would continue an "intensive regimen of physical therapy from home" and remain engaged with staff and colleagues.
