Scientists have discovered a space weather phenomenon, previously thought to exist only within Earth's protective magnetic bubble, occurring deep within the atmosphere of Mars. The finding, made using data from NASA's MAVEN spacecraft, reveals a new and unexpected way the solar wind interacts with the Red Planet.
