Matt Reeves Shares New Batman Image on Batman Day

Matt Reeves, the director of The Batman franchise, shared a new silhouette image of Robert Pattinson's Batman from the set of The Batman Part II on Batman Day, September 19, 2026. The post on social media confirmed the film is in production and is set for a theatrical release on February 18, 2028. The shadowy image, posted with the caption "Happy Batman Day to everyone from London!", shows Pattinson's Dark Knight in a moody setting. Reeves revealed that the film is being shot in the UK, with locations including London, Glasgow, and Liverpool. He also confirmed that the production is using a "film out" process, where the movie is shot digitally and then outputted to film for an organic quality. The sequel picks up in the winter after the Gotham flood from the first film and will explore more of Bruce Wayne's character. Reeves stated that he wanted to keep Pattinson at the center of the story while delving into the man behind the mask. The core cast returns, including Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
