Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Launched

Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched its refreshed Baleno premium hatchback on Saturday, September 5, 2026, targeting young urban customers with updated technology, design, and powertrain options. The new model starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹6,09,900 in Bengaluru. A significant addition to the Baleno is the introduction of segment-first Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This suite of safety and driver-assistance functions includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and prevention, forward collision warning, and advanced emergency braking. The vehicle also features ventilated front seats, a feature described as a segment-first by one report. The refreshed Baleno is powered by Maruti Suzuki's new Advanced Z12E petrol engine, also referred to as the 1.2-liter ZSeries engine. This powertrain is available with a five-speed manual transmission or an Auto Gear Shift (AGS) automatic transmission. The manual version of the petrol engine is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 23.80 kilometers per liter, while the AGS variant offers 24.77 kilometers per liter. These figures represent an improvement over the previous generation.
