Mark English made history on Thursday night, becoming the first Irish man to win an individual gold medal at the European Athletics Championships. The 33-year-old from Donegal triumphed in the men's 800m final at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, crossing the line in 1 minute 45.26 seconds.
