Man Arrested in Louisiana Stabbing Spree That Killed Four

Published 14 September 2026

A 47-year-old Houma, Louisiana, man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing spree that killed four adults and critically injured a child, marking the first quadruple homicide investigation in the history of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. Kaegan Jude Solet was taken into custody on Sunday, September 13, 2026, after being identified as a person of interest the previous day. The violence unfolded on Saturday, September 12, when deputies responded to a report of a wounded juvenile near the 200 block of Ashland Drive in Houma. The child, who had suffered multiple stab wounds, was airlifted to an out-of-area hospital and remained in critical condition. As investigators searched the area, they discovered four deceased adults inside two nearby homes. Authorities have not publicly identified the victims or disclosed a possible motive for the attacks. "This was certainly not a random act of violence," Terrebonne Parish Public Information Officer Blake Tabor stated, describing the crime scene as "very disturbing and certainly very violent." Solet was located near the Ashland Drive neighborhood and detained by deputies. Sheriff Tim Soignet confirmed the arrest on Sunday.
