Mahanagar Gas Hikes CNG Price by Rs 2 in Mumbai

Mahanagar Gas Limited announced a price increase for compressed natural gas and domestic piped natural gas in Mumbai, effective from midnight on September 1, 2026. The hike of Rs 2 per kilogram for CNG and Re 1 per standard cubic meter for PNG follows a similar move by Indraprastha Gas Limited in the Delhi-National Capital Region days earlier, with both companies citing soaring international liquefied natural gas prices as the primary driver. With the latest revision, CNG in Mumbai and adjoining areas will now cost Rs 88 per kilogram.
