Lucid Recalls 27,185 Air Sedans Over Fire Risk

Lucid is recalling 27,185 of its Air luxury sedans in the United States due to a software defect that can cause an exterior lighting circuit to overheat, creating a fire risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall on August 28, 2026, advising owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the issue is resolved. The problem lies not in the high-voltage battery system but in the low-voltage electrical system for the exterior lights. Lucid uses a software-controlled eFuse to protect these circuits instead of a traditional physical fuse.
