Published 4 September 2026

BLACKPINK member Lisa has revealed the strict dating restrictions faced by K-pop idols and her own experiences with keeping past relationships private to protect the group's popularity. In her upcoming documentary, "Always Lalisa," the singer discusses the pressures of the industry, stating, "In Kpop culture, we can't date." According to reports, Lisa explained in the film that exposure through paparazzi could significantly impact an idol's popularity. "If you're seeing someone and you get caught by paparazzi, your popularity drops," she said. Reflecting on her younger years, Lisa shared, "When I was younger, I had a few relationships, but we had to hide when we're dating." She emphasized her concern for the group, adding, "I didn't want my dating to be the thing that hurts BLACKPINK's popularity." The documentary also touches upon Lisa's solo endeavors and the challenges of forging her own path. It is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2026.
