Lisa Documentary 'Always Lalisa' Sets October 12 Theatrical Release

Published 3 September 2026

A feature documentary titled "Always Lalisa," chronicling a pivotal year in the life of Blackpink star Lisa, will premiere in IMAX and cinemas worldwide on October 12 before streaming exclusively on YouTube Premium later in 2026. The announcement was made on September 2 by Sony Music Vision, which is producing the film. Directed by Sue Kim, the documentary follows the Thai rapper, singer, and actress, whose full name is Lalisa Manobal, as she steps away from the K-pop group Blackpink for the first time since childhood. The film captures her journey launching a solo career, pursuing acting, and building a personal brand while navigating the pressures of global stardom and a desire for a private life. It chronicles the period during which she released her debut solo studio album, "Alter Ego," in 2025 and made her acting debut in HBO's "The White Lotus." "Following Lisa on this transformative and thrilling year has been a true honor and a cinematic gift," director Sue Kim said in a statement. "There have been so many moments on her journey that I think will surprise people and give a glimpse into her world that no one's ever seen before.
