Lagos to close OkeAfa Bridge for three weeks of repairs
The Lagos State Government has announced a three-week temporary closure of the OkeAfa Bridge in Isolo for rehabilitation works, with phased traffic diversions set to begin on Friday, August 28, 2026. The project, scheduled to conclude on September 18, 2026, will be executed in two phases to manage traffic flow on the busy axis. Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi disclosed the plan in a statement issued on Monday, August 24. He explained that the bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicular movement to facilitate the necessary repairs.
