Konsa withdraws from England squad for Arsenal assessment
Ezri Konsa has withdrawn from England’s squad and returned to Arsenal for further assessment after playing the full match in the 7-0 win over Croatia, the Football Association said. The defender will miss England’s Nations League match against Czechia, while his availability for Arsenal’s Premier League game against Leeds United remains uncertain. The Football Association said Konsa and midfielder Alex Scott had been ruled out of the Czechia fixture and had returned to their clubs for assessment. England manager Thomas Tuchel said Konsa had sustained another blow to his quad against Croatia, causing light trauma. Tuchel said England decided not to risk him and sent him for treatment for both issues. Konsa had played all 90 minutes against Croatia after also completing the full match in England’s 3-2 loss to Spain earlier in the international break. He had previously missed the 2-0 win over Czechia, according to reports, after managing a minor issue. His withdrawal came after he had returned to action against Croatia. The reports do not establish a medical diagnosis or the severity of the problem.
