Kit Harington reopens door to Jon Snow sequel

Kit Harington says he is more open to a Jon Snow sequel series than he was before, years after he helped shelve the project that had been in development at HBO. The Game of Thrones actor addressed the long-discussed spinoff in an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, saying he now feels more comfortable returning to the character and the world he inhabited for eight seasons. "I still think there's a world in which something could work. I wouldn't have gone into it in the first place if I didn't," Harington said. "Now I've gone and done all these other things, and now I feel more comfortable with that character and that world again and where it sits in my life." The spinoff, sometimes referred to as Snow, entered development in 2022 and would have been the first HBO series to continue past the Game of Thrones series finale. Harington said the project was worked on for about two years before it was abandoned, and he acknowledged that he was primarily responsible for stopping it. Harington recalled that both he and HBO, along with Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin, were aligned from the start on only proceeding if the right story emerged.
