Kentucky AG Sues Mayday Health Over Ads

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced Thursday, September 3, 2026, that the state has filed a civil lawsuit against Mayday Health, a New York-based activist organization, for allegedly violating state law by advertising abortion-inducing drugs. The legal action follows an incident last weekend when a plane chartered by Mayday Health flew a banner reading "Abortion Pills By Mail" over the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville. The lawsuit, filed in Logan Circuit Court, accuses Mayday Health of engaging in deceptive or misleading business practices in violation of the Kentucky Consumer Protection Act. State officials contend that the organization's advertising campaign, which also included advertisements at gas stations in Western Kentucky, constitutes illegal promotion of abortion-inducing drugs. These gas station ads reportedly asked, "Pregnant? Don't want to be? Learn more at Mayday Health." Kentucky law, enacted in 2022, prohibits the mailing or delivery of abortion-inducing drugs within the state. Attorney General Coleman stated that Mayday Health's actions are an attempt to circumvent these restrictions.
