Kate Garraway off air from GMB with hoarse voice

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway was taken off air during Monday's broadcast and did not return for Tuesday's show after developing a severely hoarse voice. The 59-year-old broadcaster began the September 14 programme with a noticeably raspy tone, which she attributed to excessive talking and singing at the National Television Awards the previous week. Garraway initially addressed the issue on air, apologising to viewers. "I must apologise to you. I'm so sorry," she said. "I'm in absolutely no pain, I don't feel unwell, but I talked way too much last week. So it's a little bit like the news is being brought to you by Barry White this morning." Her co-hosts, Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, engaged in light-hearted banter about the cause. Reid suggested Garraway had been "belting it out" at the NTAs, while Balls jokingly asked if it was due to Saturday night karaoke.
