Karnataka High Court Forms SIT to Probe KPSC Recruitment Scam

The Karnataka High Court has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a fresh probe into alleged recruitment scams at the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), rejecting a request to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The court directed the SIT to complete its investigation and submit a final report within 100 days. Justice M. Nagaprasanna, in an order pronounced on Monday, September 21, 2026, formed the team to investigate irregularities in the recruitment of veterinary officers and other posts. The SIT will be headed by Alok Kumar, Director General of Police (Prisons and Correctional Services), and will include IPS officers Divya V. Gopinath, Anup A. Shetty, Kushal Chouksey, and Kshama Mishra. The court ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Vidhana Soudha police to hand over all evidence gathered so far to the SIT within one week. The SIT was also directed to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is conducting a parallel investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
