Kargil War Veteran Alleges Iron Rod Assault in Gurugram Parking Dispute

A retired Indian Air Force Group Captain and Kargil War veteran has alleged he was assaulted with an iron rod by a parking attendant during a dispute at a Gurugram restaurant complex, leaving him with serious injuries. The incident, which occurred on September 10, has prompted a police investigation. Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta, who served in the Indian Air Force's Operation Safed Sagar during the 1999 Kargil War, was dining with his family at the Gonzo restaurant in Magnum Global Park, Sector 65, Gurugram. According to his police complaint, after dropping his family near the restaurant entrance around 8 p.m., he proceeded to park his vehicle. Gupta alleges that parking staff repeatedly directed him between different areas, including the valet section, basement, and multilevel parking, before eventually refusing to accommodate his car. The situation allegedly escalated when Gupta attempted to reverse his vehicle. He claims one of the parking attendants struck his car's windshield, apparently trying to damage it. When Gupta exited the vehicle to object, the attendant reportedly produced an iron rod and struck him twice, once on his hand and then on his head.
