Jury deliberations begin in Clancy child murder trial

Published 27 August 2026

Jury deliberations began Thursday in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, a former Massachusetts nurse who admitted to strangling her three young children in 2023 but claims she was not criminally responsible due to severe postpartum psychosis. The jury in Plymouth County Superior Court was sent to deliberate at approximately 12:30 p.m. on August 27, 2026, following closing arguments that concluded a month-long trial. Clancy, 36, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. She has acknowledged killing her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan, in the basement of their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023.
