Jon Jones Likely Done Fighting but Leaves Return Possible

Published 11 October 2026

Jon Jones says he is more likely than not finished with fighting, while keeping open the possibility of a return as he continues to undergo drug testing. The former UFC champion also described missing the White House card as one of his major regrets, even as he said he was satisfied with the way his career ended in the cage. Jones wrote on X that he probably would not fight again but was still being tested, adding that he was leaving the door open because the future is uncertain. His comments come after his retirement and amid continued discussion about whether he could return to the UFC. He has not announced a comeback. In an interview with The Schmo, Jones said his victory over Stipe Miocic was likely his final moment inside the cage and that he was happy with how it ended. He described the fight as a meaningful finish to his career. Jones defeated Miocic at UFC 309 in 2024 after winning the heavyweight title by beating Ciryl Gane. Jones separately said he regretted not competing on the White House card, describing it as one of the few nights in his career when he felt he should have been there.
