Jets Rookie Chip Trayanum Hospitalized With Neck Injury
New York Jets rookie running back Chip Trayanum was hospitalized with a neck injury following a tackle on the final play of the first half during a preseason game against the New York Giants on Friday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The team reported that the 24-year-old was awake, alert, and moving his extremities while being transported to a local hospital. The injury occurred with 10 seconds remaining before halftime. Rather than taking a knee, the Jets ran a play from deep in their own territory. Trayanum took a handoff from quarterback Cade Klubnik and was immediately hit by Giants linebacker Trace Ford.
