Jets finalize 53-man roster, trade for Raiders lineman

The New York Jets trimmed their roster to 53 players by the NFL's Sunday deadline, making a series of cuts and transactions while agreeing to a trade to address a key need on their offensive line. General manager Darren Mougey finalized a deal to acquire center-guard Jordan Meredith from the Las Vegas Raiders, sending a 2027 sixth-round pick in exchange for Meredith and a 2029 seventh-round pick. The Jets also waived defensive end Nate Lynn, who had three sacks in two preseason games, while retaining Braiden McGregor on the roster.
