Jalen Brunson to host Saturday Night Live season premiere

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is set to host the season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 26, NBC announced. Brunson, who recently led the Knicks to their first NBA championship in more than half a century and was named Finals MVP, will make his hosting debut with pop group Katseye as the musical guest. The booking marks a significant moment for Brunson, who has become a prominent figure in New York sports following the team's championship victory this summer. This appearance also positions him as the first active NBA player to host the sketch comedy show since LeBron James in 2007. Following Brunson's premiere, the announced lineup for subsequent weeks includes actress Dakota Johnson on October 3, with the band Turnstile serving as musical guest. Comedian Shane Gillis is scheduled to host on October 10, accompanied by musical guest Rosalía. The show will then take a two-week break before returning on Halloween night, October 31, with Inde Navarrette, the breakout star of the horror film "Obsession," as host and Gracie Abrams as musical guest. The upcoming season of Saturday Night Live will see some cast changes.
