Jaipur Government School Demolished After Campaign Highlights Unsafe Conditions

Authorities in Jaipur demolished a dilapidated government school building on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, after its unsafe condition was highlighted by a political party's campaign, officials said. The demolition of the old structure at Government Primary School in Rampura Kanwarpura village marks the first step toward constructing a new building sanctioned by the state government. The building was bulldozed in the presence of district administration and education department officials. "The building has been demolished," an official confirmed. The school had been declared dilapidated and unsafe following a technical survey in September 2025 and was subsequently taken out of use. Its 18 students have since been attending classes in two rooms and a tin shed arranged by villagers, with buffaloes tethered nearby. The demolition follows a confrontation on August 21, when members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) visited the village as part of its "School Thik Karo" campaign to highlight the condition of government schools. The visit led to a clash between CJP workers and villagers.
