Jaguars trade for Dolphins QB Quinn Ewers

Published 29 August 2026

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to trade for Miami Dolphins quarterback Quinn Ewers, sending a 2028 Day 3 draft pick to Miami in exchange for the second-year signal-caller. The deal, reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo on Saturday, August 29, 2026, adds a young arm to Jacksonville's quarterback room behind starter Trevor Lawrence. Ewers, a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, spent most of his rookie season on Miami's depth chart. His opportunity came in Week 16 of the 2025 season when then-head coach Mike McDaniel benched starter Tua Tagovailoa, who had led the league in interceptions for much of the year.
