Italian GP: Tsunoda Cleared, Retains Point

Yuki Tsunoda has retained his 10th-place finish and the associated championship point from the Italian Grand Prix after stewards cleared him of an infringement during a chaotic restart. The Racing Bulls driver was investigated for his positioning on the grid following a red flag period, which led to an extra formation lap being ordered by the race director. The incident occurred on the lap 6 restart at Monza, after Charles Leclerc's significant crash on lap 2 necessitated lengthy barrier repairs. As drivers returned to their grid slots, Tsunoda appeared to move from the 15th position towards the 14th grid box, a maneuver that left his car pointing slightly towards the pit wall. Citing concerns about the car's position, the FIA race director initiated an additional formation lap. Under Formula 1 regulations, a driver who causes an extra formation lap is required to start the subsequent race session from the pit lane. Failure to do so can result in a penalty. However, Tsunoda lined up in his designated 14th grid slot for the restart.
